Solid Surface Vs Other Material

Excellent insulation

Easy to repair

Easy clean

Cast in true solid-surface (acrylic + mineral), this tub is solid through-body—not a thin acrylic/fiberglass shell. The dense, non-porous core keeps water warmer for longer, dampens noise, and delivers a reassuring stone-like feel. The surface is renewable: light scratches can be sanded and restored on site for long service life in hospitality and residential builds.

Bathtub Installation — Quick Guide & Requirements

For freestanding solid-surface (acrylic) bathtubs. O1 = floor waste/outlet. Professional installation recommended.

Before You Start (Site Prep)

  • Floor level within ±3 mm across the footprint; clean, dry, dust-free.
  • O1 centered per drawing (tolerance ±10 mm); trap size Ø40/50 mm (1½″/2″).
  • If using a floor-mounted filler, pre-install hot/cold supplies and valve body.
  • Plan access and lifting: 2–4 people, straps/suction lifters, protect flooring.

Tools & Materials

  • Neutral-cure sanitary silicone (white/clear) & caulking gun
  • Flexible waste & overflow kit (supplied), hose clamp
  • Bubble level, masking tape, microfiber cloth
  • Adjustable spanner/screwdriver, utility knife

Do’s & Don’ts

  • Do keep the flexible hose in a smooth curve with continuous fall to O1.
  • Do not kink, twist, or form a deep U-loop in the hose.
  • Do not drill, screw, or bolt through the tub body—silicone is the primary fixing.
  • Use only neutral-cure silicone (no acidic/acetoxy types).

Testing & Curing

  • Leak test: fill to overflow, hold 5 min, inspect all joints; then drain and recheck.
  • Allow silicone to cure 24 h (longer in cold/humid conditions) before first use.

Refer to the product drawing for exact rough-in dimensions. Keep access for future service.

Step 1 — Move in & dry-fit

  • With 2–4 people and lifting straps/suction cups, lift vertically off the pallet. Do not drag the rim.

  • Place the tub near its final position and align the drain over O1.

  • Dry-fit only (no sealant yet). Check level front–back and side–side; mark the final footprint on the floor.

Step 2 — Bonding footprint & set the tub

  • Raise the tub slightly; clean and dry the marked area.

  • Run a continuous 3–5 mm bead of neutral-cure sanitary silicone around the footprint (full perimeter as shown).

  • If positioning pads are supplied, place them first, then apply sealant.

  • Lower the tub straight down into its marks; press evenly and wipe off squeeze-out.

Step 3 — Assemble drain & overflow

  • Install the waste/overflow kit in the order shown: flange → gasket(s) → locknut.

  • Apply a thin bead of neutral silicone under the flange; tighten hand-tight + ¼ turn (do not over-torque).

  • Connect the flexible waste hose and secure the clamp; keep access for future service.

  • Leak test: fill the tub, operate the waste, and check all joints for drips.

Step 4 — Connect to floor outlet & final checks

  • Join the flexible hose to O1; clamp firmly. Keep a smooth gentle curve—no kinks, twists, or deep U-loops (see icon).

  • Ensure proper fall/slope to O1 and a reliable water seal to prevent odors.

  • Perform a second fill-and-drain test; clean the area.

  • Allow silicone to cure 24 h before use. Do not screw or bolt through the tub body—silicone is the primary fixing.

Daily care

  • Rinse after use and wipe dry with a microfiber cloth.

  • Use a pH-neutral, non-abrasive cleaner and a soft sponge.

Weekly clean

  • Remove soap scum/limescale with 1:1 white vinegar : water. Rinse and dry.

Stain removal

  • Light stains: cream cleanser or baking-soda paste, soft white pad.

  • Hair dye/makeup/oils: rinse immediately; wash with mild dish soap.

  • Limescale rings: vinegar/citric solution 5–10 min max, then rinse—don’t leave overnight.

Scratch refresh (renewable surface)

  • Matte: wet-sand 800 → 1200 → 1500 grit in small circles; finish with a white Scotch-Brite.

  • Gloss: wet-sand 1200 → 2000 grit, then use polishing compound and a soft pad.

  • Deep gouges: contact service.

Disinfection

  • 70% isopropyl alcohol wipe, or bleach 1:10 for ≤5 min. Rinse thoroughly.

Heat & impact

  • Don’t pour boiling water directly—mix with cold first.

  • Don’t stand or sit on the rim; avoid dropping heavy objects.

Chemicals to avoid

  • Acetone, paint/lacquer thinners, strong acids/alkalis (pH <4 or >10), abrasive powders, steel wool.

Sealant & drain

  • Inspect the silicone bead around the base every 6–12 months; re-seal if cracked.

  • Clean the waste/overflow and hair strainer regularly; check for leaks annually.

Hard-water tip

  • Squeegee after each use; a softener reduces scale buildup.

FAQ

What is a solid-surface (stone resin) bathtub made of?

A composite of acrylic/polyester resins and mineral fillers; dense, stone-like, and non-porous.

Typical freestanding units weigh ~90–180 kg (200–400 lb); many models list ~250–280 lb—check floor capacity or consult an engineer.

Yes—solid walls provide good insulation and keep water warm longer.

Yes—surfaces are non-porous, easy to clean, and resist mildew when maintained properly.

Use pH-neutral, non-abrasive cleaners; for soap scum/limescale, mild vinegar solution, rinse and dry.

Light marks usually sand/polish out with fine grits (≈800–1200 then up to 2000); deeper chips may need filler and pro refinishing.

Connect a flexible drain to the floor outlet, run a neutral-cure silicone bead around the base, leak-test, and allow ~24 h to cure.

Avoid dumping boiling water directly and harsh solvents/strong acids/alkalis; dissolve bath salts/oils fully and rinse.

Yes—freestanding tubs just need a drain plus hot/cold supplies; rough-in per drawing and local code.

Multiple shapes and mounting options (freestanding, drop-in, etc.) across compact to large sizes; OEM/ODM feasible.
